Adam and I had such a great day yesterday. He had his little art class in the morning where he got to do some stamp painting, make a jellyfish, play with homemade play-doh, and do some chalk drawing. We came home, had some lunch, went to the park, played with play-doh here, and then he played on his play-set here until dinner. He really loves the glider! I think he sat on that thing for at least 45 minutes! The rest of the evening went pretty well.
Today he was just a crazy-man! I think he had one too many jellybeans from going on the potty. He had such a regression in training that we started to resort to bribing again but he doesn't always care. I guess the good thing is that he always poops on the potty.
We went to a different park today and anytime he saw any kind of bug, he screamed!! At home, he wanted to sit on his glider again but there were gnats and flies around so he wouldn't get on it. I thought boys were supposed to like bugs!

Easter eggs, play sets, and family
What more could a 2 and half year old want? We went to Aunt Jen and Uncle J's for an Easter egg hunt Saturday morning. Adam was a little leary of the Easter Bunny but waved and yelled "bye-bye" on our drive out.
Adam finding some good eggs Saturday morning.
More eggs at our house on Sunday morning.
Easter Bunny left a couple of baskets out with the hidden eggs.
Mmmm - Jelly Beans for breakfast!
Trying a hard-boiled egg for the 1st time. He didn't like it...
but he thought the Yoda egg was pretty cool.
The play-set Dave, Bob, and Andy built in 2 days!!!
I think he likes it!
HAPPY BOY!!
6 am
That's what time Adam decided to wake me up this morning. When he wouldn't go back to sleep in our bed, I took him back to his room and told him he needed to go back to sleep because the sun was still asleep. Well, he didn't actually go back to sleep but he did lay quietly in his bed for a little while. Then he climbed all over me to make sure I wasn't sleeping, got up, turned off his ladybug and music and then opened his bedroom door. The sun was out by now (7:15) and he started dancing and saying "the sun awake! the sun awake!" He danced into his playroom and we have been here ever since.... Somebody needs to tell the sun to sleep-in on the weekends since the room darkening curtains aren't doing it for us. :)
I will try to get some of the Easter and play-set pictures up later....

Welcome to Ourday Preschool!
We got Adam's class assignment letter a couple days ago. He will be in the Friday morning class. They had called me last week asking if that was OK since it was my 4th choice and said we could say no and be put on a waiting list for one of the other days but I rather not take the risk of not getting in.
Dave laughs at me when I call it school. He said it's more like a big play date. I guess when you look at their little sample schedule, it doesn't look like much learning going on but I know it's more about the socialization...and getting him away from me for more than an hour at a time.

Pics - slightly graphic
Just documenting for his journal. I really would have loved to have taken a picture of him in the Papoose Board but I think it was enough to have been snapping in the waiting room.
I tried to get a picture of the stitches today but they turned out blurry.
He's fine today. He was jumping off all the furniture as usual and making me extra nervous.

1st Stitches
Sooo...tonight, Adam was sitting on Dave's lap in the playroom and it was time to start getting ready for bed. Dave put him down and Adam lost his balance and whacked his head on his train table. I didn't think it was going to be anything because the edges are all pretty rounded but when I picked him up, he was bleeding. YIKES! Adam was screaming and not wanting us to put anything on his head but we managed to stop the bleeding, assess the gash, and call his pediatrician who said the Close to Home was open until 8pm. Yay, since we live 5 minutes away! Boo because Adam was running around like nothing happened and so we had to chase him down and run to the car. We got checked in at 7:40 and they came out immediately to try to stick some numbing gel on it that would have to sit for 25 minutes. Well, Adam wouldn't have any of that and screamed and thrashed the whole time so the bandage holding the gel fell off. Plan B - lidocaine (which equals needles but that's was fine with me ). Adam was fine in the waiting room for the 5 minutes it took to set up a room for him. Once the nurses got near him, he would freak out again. Fortunately, they have this cool thing called a Papoose board (seen below).
I know it looks horrible but there is NO holding on to this kid when he gets upset. It's like a giant velcro burrito and then one of the nurses held his head since it needed to be held to the side. He sounded possessed during the whole procedure! I could make out "hugs" and "out" but the rest was very "red-rum"-ish. The nurses said they were going to run if he started to spit-out pea soup. 3 stitches and a little hyperventilating later and he was fine. Once we got him ready for bed and stories read, he was asleep within 5 minutes!

Pre-registration forms in
Adam and I went back to the preschool yesterday to turn in his pre-registration forms. I don't know how long it will take to get the real registration and class assignment back since we are past the dates they had listed on the form. Is it sad that kids are in school for a good 20 years??
