More teeth!

Adam is getting his top 2-year molars in!  I'm assuming this cold he has had for a couple weeks is due to that...I just hope it doesn't last as long as it takes for the teeth to come in.  With the new teeth, he seems to have a new appetite.  He has been an eating machine the past 2 days! I'm afraid he's going to wake up tomorrow 3 inches taller!

NickJr has been showing a couple videos/songs from a show called Signing Time in between shows.  One is called "In a House" and the woman sings and signs all the people in a family "and then there's me, me, me."  Adam likes to sing along and point to himself at that point. So, I checked the library to see if they carry the DVD's of the whole show.  Of course, that episode has been stolen from the library, but we managed to get "My Day". He has actually been watching it daily and tries to sign along!  It's really cute and I think it's been helping his talking as well!

Where's Kirby?

The other day, Adam had a great time taking all of the dog's toys out of the basket and piling them on top of Kirby.  Kirby is not usually a patient dog but he sat there the whole time.

Adam got a haircut today.  I was really worried since he said "no haircut" all the way there but he was SO good!  He sat still the whole time...even when they took out the clippers.  His hair is a little longer than the last cut he got but it's winter...he needs some extra insulation. :)

Bad Mommy

I know the last bunch of posts have been potty centric...and here's another one!!  :)
I fell asleep on the couch for a couple of minutes this morning while Adam was watching cartoons and playing with all his toys.  I woke up to him saying "pee mommy!"  Uh-oh!  I looked over at him and he had taken off his diaper (which was huge because he downed a cup of juice)  but he had sat on the potty and gone pee!  Then, for the next 15 minutes, he kept sitting on his potty and peeing a little and saying "LOOK mommy!  Pee!"  YAY!  Of course, now he's laying on the changing pad asking for a diaper...

A couple Adam funnies:
We introduced him to Pee Wee's Playhouse this week.  Now, every night around dinner he asks to watch "Playhouse"  (which he says very clearly).  I ask "Who's playhouse?"  "Pee Pee's Playhouse."  Ha ha!

We also like to watch Max and Ruby. (Max has a  lot of cool toys for a bunny).  This morning he called them Max and Boobie.

Adam has a fake laugh.  "Ha Ha HA!"  "I'm laughing Mommy!"

Still in Diapers

One of my FB friends asked me yesterday if Adam was done with diapers now.  Ummm...no.  We had a really good week last week but most of this week he has asked to wear a diaper.  I'll blame it on his cold.  The only thing that is annoying is when he pulls out his changing pad, takes off his pants and his diaper, and asks me to put on a new one.  If you can do all that, you should be able to ask to sit on the potty but I'm not going to pressure him.  I'm happy to be this far since his pediatrician said to expect closer to 3.

This morning, Adam decided to come into the bathroom with me.  When I finished, he cheered for me, flushed the toilet, and said bye-bye to my stuff.  It was too funny!

Adam got a new kitchen last weekend!  He LOVES it!

 

No diaper

Adam was diaperless for 6-7 hours today and NO accidents!  Last night before bedtime we were going to change his diaper and he said "No, potty".  We thought he was just trying to  stall but sat him on the potty and he peed!  Same thing happened after lunch today but I didn't put him back in a diaper...I just stuck to him like a fly.  He was dancing in the dog's room (to the lovely keyboard song "Hero" over and over) and he said "uh-oh, potty"  and ran to the bathroom and pooped on the potty!!!    I was shocked!  A little later we were playing in the basement so I brought his froggy potty down.  We running around Dave's island of bookshelves and he stopped and sat on the potty - peed and pooped again!  The rest of the day I had to bring him to the potty because I just didn't trust him but he peed every time!  Diaper went back on while Dave and I ate dinner and he didn't bother to tell us if he had to go....

SNOW!!

Yesterday, Adam and I were playing in the snow.  By playing in the snow, I mean I was shoveling and Adam was wandering around, plunking himself down making snow angels, and dipping his face into the big pile of snow at the bottom of the driveway.  We also went for a short sled ride but it was cold and after the face shoving into the snow and a mitten falling off, we were done.  I brought him in and got all the wet clothes off and then realized I still needed to shovel some snow off the deck because the back door was getting stuck on it.  Adam kept opening the screen door and saying "HI Mommy" and I said to get back in because you don't have any shoes or coat on (he tried to step out in his socks at one point).  Just as I was finishing, he came out the door with the plastic baggies on his feet that I put on with his shoes since we don't have boots for him yet (that's right - ghetto boots).  It was too funny!

Poor Daddy

Dave gets forced out of Adam's room every night.  Dave tries to snuggle with him and he just says "No Daddy!" and leads him to the door.  I guess I should be flattered that I get to snuggle with every night but what if I don't want to be with Adam from the time he wakes up to the time he falls asleep?  What if I wasn't home?  (Rare but it could happen).  And when does he learn to get in his own bed and fall asleep with no one in the room?  Right now he usually snuggles with me in the big bed, falls asleep, and I have to pick him up and put him in his bed.  Sometimes he will go to sleep in his own bed but we have to be there rubbing his back.  He has never gone to sleep on his own since he moved out of the crib.

A new home for Adam's page

Since AboutMyBaby site is going down this year, Adam needs a new home.  I'll try this for a while before letting the rest of the world know it's here...

Edited 1/8/10 - Tried another baby web site and didn't like the layout so I'll stick to this for now...
