Preschool decision

We have decided to send Adam to the Ourday preschool at the Messiah church in Uptown Westerville.  I liked the Enchanted Care place better but for a pre-preschool, this is fine. It is $64/month as opposed to $54/day.  I think Friday mornings are the only slot open so we have to hurry up and get our registration in.

Yo Gabba Gabba Live

We had SO much fun at the show in Cincinnati! I have some video of the beginning and end of Adam. The rest of the time he just sat quietly in Dave's lap. If it were to come to Columbus, I think we would see it again!

Car conversation

We went for a quick trip to Toys R Us tonight and we took the Focus per Adam's request. Usually, if the whole family is going somewhere, we take the Escape since it's easier to get Adam in and out. Anyway..Adam likes to hold on to the passenger side seatbelt but since I was in that seat using it, he couldn't.

Adam: Seatbelt please?
Dave: Mommy's using it.
Adam: Nooo! Seatbelt!!
Dave: Adam, Mommy has to wear it so she doesn't die. Do you want Mommy to die?
Adam: Yes. Mommy die, please?

Laughter ensues...

Stupid Daylight Savings Time

Adam woke up around 8:00 yesterday (which, ya know, is like 7). We did some running around and he fell asleep in the car around 3:00. I put him on the couch hoping it would keep him from sleeping too much. I tried to wake him up a couple of times but he wouldn't. He ended up napping until 5:30ish. Knowing that he wouldn't be sleepy around his normal bedtime, we went to Meijer around 8 with hopes of him falling asleep in the car again. Nope! He didn't fall asleep until midnight. Mondays are an early day for us here so I was less than thrilled but was glad he was finally asleep. Come 3am and Adam is up and in our room wanting to play with my iPod. Ugghh! We managed to get him to fall asleep in our bed and I don't think either one of us wanted to wake him by accident putting him back in his bed. For some reason, he can't sleep "normal" all night so he ended up with his head by Dave and feet kicking me all morning. Despite his lack of sleep, he did really well in the Sprouts room, at the library, and for the 2+ hours he played with my friend Anne's kids here. Hoping he'll be really pooped tonight and fall asleep quickly and soundly!

This Morning

The other night, Adam decided he wanted his milk in a sippy cup! We put it in the "special" big boy cup we bought a while ago to try and get him off the bottle and he drank it all. Yesterday, he only wanted his milk in a bottle. This morning I hid his bottles and told him the ghosts took them. (Dave has him convinced there are ghosts in the house). He was actually OK with this! He's not drinking all the milk right now but he's not throwing a fit! I think we may finally be done with bottles! Woo Hoo!

I gave him a cup of Apple Jacks this morning since we are out of his oatmeal. I went to go check my email while he was munching and watching Oswald and he came in with the empty cup asking for more. I told him I'd be there in a minute. I heard some noise from the kitchen and went to see what it was. Adam had gotten the box of cereal out of the cupboard, had his cup on the counter, and was taking little handfuls of cereal out of the box and putting them in his cup. Guess I don't need to get stuff for him anymore- he can do it himself!

I scheduled a couple of tours for preschools yesterday...both on recommendations from others. One is called Ourday that is in a church on State St. They are one of the few places that have a program for the older 2 year olds. The 2's only go one day a week from 9:15 - noon. The other is one of the more "commercial" places called Enchanted Care. They have an "open door" policy where they are open from 7-6 and you can drop off/pick up any time. He can go twice a week and work up to full-time if we want (but I don't think he needs that right now).

Cheater

Adam has already learned how to cheat at games. I pulled out the "Hi-Ho Cherry-o" game and Adam learned quickly that a "4" was the best you could spin so when it was his turn, he would place the spinner at the 4 every time and win.

When we had our roof leaking problem that somehow leaked up into Adam's room as well as sat on top of our kitchen ceiling, we had to take everything out of Adam's room so we could pull up the carpet and let it dry. When we put it all back, we decided to leave the baby gate off his door. Now, every morning around 6:15, Adam comes into our room. He says "Hi, Mommy!" and climbs up, gives me a big hug, and (usually) goes back to sleep for about an hour. This morning he came into our room with his ladybug star constellation nightlight that he always turns on before going to sleep. It was too cute! Unfortunately he needed a new diaper that he didn't want and ended waking up too much from fighting us to go back to sleep...We'll see what tomorrow morning brings!

No pants on the ground here

Nope - we wear them on our heads!

Adam has been doing FABULOUS on the potty! We did have an amusing time Sunday at Target. He was kind of dancing in the toy aisle and said he needed to use the potty. I scooped him up and got to the bathroom quick. He had to go so bad that he couldn't stand still while I was taking down his pants. Once I got him on the potty, I tried to point him down but the stream was SO strong, it started going everywhere. I had to put my hand in front of it like the potty seats do to block and try to hold him up so he wouldn't fall in...I should have taken Dave's offer to come in with us. Anyway...thank God Target usually has some good clearance clothes because I forgot to bring an extra pair of pants! When do they start learning how to stand and pee??
